About Me

Jason dog behavior and obedience specialist when training hasn't workedHi there,
My name is Jason.

I created DogTrouble.Net to help me spread the word about natural solutions for dog behavior problems.

Today far too many dogs are written off as “bad dogs” and get locked in the slammer (shelter) and put on death row.

When dog behavior problems start affecting your life it’s time to get serious help for your canine friend. As responsible dog owners it is our responsibility to do everything we can to help our dogs live a happy, balanced life. Dogs are not throw away…

A little back ground…
pack leader from an early age
The earliest memories I have of dogs are from when I was two years old. Granted I don’t remember much about being two, but I can certainly remember the family dog. I grew up in a family that loves dogs, so dogs have always been a big part of my life. It has always seemed natural to have canine companionship. From a very early age I was comfortable with dogs and had a very tight relationship with them.

When I was about 4 years old we had this big English Sheepdog. On all fours that guy was almost as big as I was! Crackers was his name… In retrospect, I suppose I can thank Crackers for the education he gave me as I was growing up. I learned to respect big dogs and the power they possess. In exchange for that respect I also learned how to be a natural leader. Over the years it seemed perfectly natural to almost instantly gain the trust and respect of nearly every dog I met.

Young dog behaviorist Jason leading the packThroughout the rest of my childhood into my teenage years I naturally became more social and starting meeting new people. When I would meet somebody with a dog I almost always was able to gain the trust and respect of their dogs quite quickly. I would hear “oh fido doesn’t like anybody… but he seems to love you! He does everything you say!”

Of course as a teenager you don’t notice these things. I never really paid much attention to the fact that in many cases, these people could not get their dog to do anything. While it seemed perfectly natural for dogs to just kind of do what I want… Not everybody was so lucky. It took me years to realize that many homes have unruly dogs that don’t listen to their owners.

As an adult I became ever more aware of this fact. I had friends who had dogs that were acting up and they just didn’t know what to do. I began researching canine behavior and human interactions. The more I learned, the more I realized that I was actually working with dogs in a totally different way than most people. I was actually working with nature when dealing with dogs. It was almost like I was speaking the dogs language.

By understanding and embracing this dynamic, I began to help friends with their little dog problems here and there. My friends were always making comments like “I can’t believe that’s all it took” or they would say “You must be some kind of dog whisperer or something.” Small dogs, big dogs, mean aggressive dogs and scared dogs…. I have been involved with them all. When you boil it all down they are all still just dogs.

One day it hit me like a ton of bricks… People do not understand their dogs. We all love our dogs and want the best for them. Sadly though, most folks just don’t understand their canine friends. So when a behavior problem or obsession comes up most people just don’t know what to do.

POOR DOGS!

Killer attack dog

My eyes were suddenly opened to a world that is truly backwards. On TV they play “funny animal” shows where people video tape their dogs. There on national TV humans are just dying laughing at poor dogs with psychological problems. Maybe the dog cries like a baby when they leave… so they tape it and hope the make some money. Maybe the little dog is snarling violently and showing teeth… sure it may look “cute”… but what happens when that poor little guy tears up a little girls cheek?

I’ll tell you what happens… those poor dogs end up in shelters or euthanized! When a dog gets returned to the shelter time after time for the same problem the poor fella ends up on death row!

In a world where we are supposedly so compassionate towards animals how can this be? Even the so called dog professionals think it is just easier to throw the dog away than address the problem and correct it. Instead of giving our dogs the things they truly need…. we make fun of them and then when it gets out of control we just kill them?

Here’s the worst part of it, many of these problems and behaviors come about because US HUMANS do not know how to fulfill the needs of mans best friend. Many of these behaviors can be corrected naturally with simple primal communication that the dog can understand. Sometimes these changes are almost instant!

Sadly most folks turn to a dog trainer thinking that making the dog “sit/stay” is gonna fix all their problems. Call a dog trainer and tell her you have a pitbull that you rescued from an illegal dog fighting ring… Ask her if she can help you over come that dogs aggression towards other dogs. You will probably be told to put the dog down!

After realizing that even the so called “professionals” were a part of this mixed up dog world…. I came to the conclusion that everything I had learned about a dogs life and psychology was for a reason.

At that moment I decided to dedicate my time to helping dogs with their people problems.

If your favorite dog is acting up or having any number of behavioral problems then you need to call me now. Even if I am your last hope…. the last stop before the shelter.. You owe it to you dog to be the most caring human you can be and learn how to get to the bottom of the problem. It may not really be as bad as you think!

I work with humane tools and methods that allow me to communicate in the primal manner that your dog understands. Some people call it “dog whispering,” others call it a miracle… I just call it the right thing to do. I want you and your dog to find the rewarding balance that is possible when you truly fulfill your dogs needs.

I have no affiliation with the “Dog Whisperer” Cesar Millan. I have currently never met him, but I do have a great deal of respect for him and his role in educating humans about what dogs truly need. He is truly an inspiration to those of us who are brave enough to rehabilitate “bad dogs” and teach humans about proper, caring pack leadership.

After you have had a chance to experience what it’s like to live in balanceDogs respect their pack leader with your dog, you will look back on our consultation as one of the most wonderful things you have ever done for your four legged friend.

I look forward to helping improve your life with your dog!
